Hotels in Marinduque (Day 1)

There are two things known in Marinduque, namely: the Moriones Festival and the Boac Cathedral. 

Last December 20, 2014, I went to Marinduque to spend my vacation prior to Christmas. Unfortunately, Moriones Festival is celebrated during Holy Week and that leaves me with only visiting  the Boac Cathedral. But this is not the topic in this blog. I am here to help you find the appropriate accommodation for your stay in Boac, Marinduque.

There are seven municipalities in Marinduque. But the best place to stay is in its capital, Boac. And here follows some of the accommodations in Boac, Marinduque.

1. Tahanan sa Isok 

For me, the best place to stay is in Tahanan sa Isok which is located near the marketplace of the town. The lowest price of the air-conditioned rooms is P900-P1,000. It has a swimming pool (use is for free to the guest), hot and cold shower, restaurant, and a wifi (up to the room itself). 

It has the best rooms in town and the rooms are cozy, refreshing, and well-maintained.

2. Boac Hotel

Boac Hotel is located in the middle of the town. Price of the rooms vary from non-aircon (P500) to air-conditioned rooms P900-P1,000. During my first visit in Boac (2008), I stayed in this hotel. It has wifi and one of the best restaurants in town.

3. Abby's Place

4. A & A Beach Resort

This one is located outside the town. You can ride a tricycle going to Barangay Laylay. The hotel is also a resort and located in the coastal area of Boac. 5. Lucky Seven Pension House

It offers the cheapest dormitory-type room for backpackers at the price of  P300/pax. It is located in the tow's marketplace. The room is clean and tidy. I stayed for two nights in this lodging establishment and paid P600 for my two days stay.

While you are in Boac, make sure you eat at Kusina sa Plaza, the best resto in town.

Make sure you also walk around town and see the century-old houses lining up on the streets.
