Visita Iglesia - Batangas (2009)

Before this Visita Iglesia in Batangas, it was a family ritual. But ever since my brothers married, they separately conducted their own visita iglesia with their respective families. Twice, my mom and I conducted it in Quezon City and Manila. Unfortunately, there were no pictures taken.

Have been to so many churches in Luzon, pero para saken pinakamagaganda talaga mga simbahan sa Batangas. Top 5 dito sa Batangas - Taal, Calatagan, Balayan, Lipa City at Nasugbu.

This road trip was last year started from Cuenca - Alitagtag - Sta. Teresita - Taal - Lemery - Calaca - Balayan - Calatagan - Tuy - Lian - Nasugbu - Bauan - Batangas City - San Jose.

                                 First stop - Cuenca Church

                          Second stop - Alitagtag Church

Third stop - Sta. Teresita Church

                                      Fourth stop - Taal Basilica
(Biggest Catholic church in Asia and one of my favorites)

Fifth stop - Caysasay Church (Taal)

                  Sixth stop -  Lemery Church

                             Seventh stop - Calaca Church

                                 Eight stop - Balayan Church

                                  Ninth stop - Tuy Church

                               Tenth stop - Nasugbu Church

                                 Eleventh stop - Lian Church

                      Twelfth stop - Bauan Church

Thirteenth stop - San Jose Church

                         Fourteenth stop - Lipa Cathedral

Due to lack of time, I had no spare time to go to Batangas City.
And so I skipped Batangas City.

Again, my Top 5 churches are Taal, Calatagan, Balayan, Lipa City and Nasugbu.

Visita Iglesia - Cavite (2010)

Visita Iglesia is an annual custom for me. I ask repentance for all my sins and thanksgiving for all the blessings that I received for the entire year.

It was year 2010. I started from Tanauan City, Batangas (my hometown). Traveling alone in my bike and cruising with an average speed of 110-120 kms/hr. Wait till you feel the wind brushing in your face at that speed, it's really great as if you were gliding in the air!!!

Well, my church visit started from Tagaytay City- Alfonso-Aguinaldo-Magallanes-Maragondon-Ternate-Naic-Tanza-Salinas-Novelete-Kawit-Imus-Dimasalang-Silang. Then, went back home. It took me the whole day to finish it.

First stop - Tierra De Maria (Tagaytay City)

Second stop - San Juan Nepomuceno Church

                    Third stop - Baylen/Aguinaldo Church

Fourth stop - I forgot (sorry)

                                                         Fifth stop

Sixth stop (I need help naming the church)

                                     Seventh stop - Ternate Church

Eight stop - Holy Cross Parish

                                                          Ninth stop

                                                             Tenth Stop

                                                            Eleventh stop

                            Twelfth stop - Imus Cathedral

                       Thirteenth stop - Dimasalang Church

                                Fourteenth stop - Silang Church

I will never forget the last stop. I was caught entering a one-way lane. Honestly, that was the first time I went to Silang and I pleaded my case to the traffic enforcer. I explained to him what I was doing and with Divine Intervention, no traffic ticket or fine was meted. Now, that is what you call miracle!

Ciao! =)

Visita Iglesia - Cebu and Bohol (2011)

As part of my yearly routine during Holy Week, I am sharing the different churches that I have visited in the Philippines. Part of this annual custom is visiting at least 14 churches which symbolizes the 14 stations of the cross. And as a devout Catholic, this practice has been religiously observed throughout the years.

Visita Iglesia - Cebu and Bohol (2011)

It was summer 2011. And there I was in Cebu visiting the Magellan's Cross and it was a good thing that the Sto. Nino Cathedral is just beside the Magellan's Cross.

Second stop - Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral

I stayed only 5 hours in Cebu and I went to the port and boarded the ship to Bohol.

Third stop - Tagbilaran Church

Then, the St. James the Apostle Church

Honestly, I forgot the name of this church..

Sixth stop - Loboc Church

Seventh stop - Loay Church

Eight stop -  Alburquerque Church

Ninth stop - Baclayon Church

Tenth stop - Dauis Church

Eleventh stop - I forgot (sorry)

Twelfth Stop - Panglao Church

Thirteenth stop - Lila Church

Fourteenth stop - Dimiao Church

Fifteenth stop - Church of Valencia

Sixteenth stop - Garcia Hernandez Church

I know God wouldn't mind If I visited 16 churches instead of the usual 14 churches.
This is Bohol!!
If the exterior and facade are fascinating and breathtaking,
you should see the interior and the belltower of the church.
I simply love the churches of Bohol!!!
