Inland Tour in El Nido, Palawan (Biking and Trekking)

We biked 42 kilometers.
Trekked for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
And it was our fourth day in El Nido.

We were able to finish all the island hopping tours in El Nido (Tours A, B, C, and D). Thanks to Hadefe Travel and Tours. There were other options/tours available but we opted to have the Biking and Trekking Tour.

Prior to this tour, we made inquiries on how much would it cost for us to have the tour and the costs are as follows:
P1,500 - using tricycle going to Nacpan and Caitang Twin Beach
P500 - whole day use of the motorbike (gasoline not included)
P500 - whole day use of the mountain bike
P300 - half-day use of the mountainbike
P150 - using tricycle going to Corong Corong Beach

Of course, we opted the cheapest and the most daring of all - biking and trekking using the mountain bike. Well, according to the tour, we have to bike for 2 hours (14 kilometers) and then trek for 45 minutes going to Nagkalit Kalit Waterfalls. With Lester and Rico, we woke up early that day and biked our way to our destination.

Fourteen kilometers! And we are not even professional bikers. Imagine the effort, patience and pain we've been through just to get to our destination. There were even times that we had to alight from our mountain bikes and literally, drag it on the uphill twist and turns of the road going to the falls. We thought that going there was the difficult part, we were wrong. Going back was twice as difficult. But it was fun!

There were even times we had to wait for each other and I just had to alight and listen to the songs in my Iphone. Waiting is an integral part of the tour. We had to wait for each other.

Half-way through, a bit of photo op won't hurt us and we did. We passed the first bridge. There were a total of 3 bridges (if I'm not mistaken) that we had to cross before reaching the jump-off point.

And after 1 hour and 17 minutes, we reached our destination. Normally, it takes 2 hours for one to reach the jump-off point, but we were all pumped up by our adrenalin.

According to the El Nido Municipal Tourism Office, the fee for the tour guide is P400. On the other hand, according to the locals, they charge P150/pax. But we were able to haggle and the fee ended up in the amount of P300 for all us. We were given a female guide for this trekking adventure. By the way, there is no signal of Smart or Globe on this part of the world.

We crossed the river nine times  before we were able to reach the falls. And every time we cross, our rubber shoes get wet in the process. Should have worn slippers that day.

After 35 minutes (should be 45 minutes), we were able to reach our destination - Nagkalit Kalit Waterfalls.

Before the trek, we were told that the falls is not strong since it's summer and the locals were right. But our enthusiasm and happiness upon seeing the falls were not affected. It was already an achievement on our part.

After staying for 30 minutes, we trekked back. Upon reaching the jump-off point, we took our merienda. it was already 9:45 am and we were already hungry. While eating, we were told that Nacpan beach was only 7 kilometers away. And you know what happened next. And Yes, we did! We agreed to bike our way to Nacpan. Along the way, we had to stop several times and replenish with water, softdrinks and juice to boost our energy. This was not part of the original plan!

The road going to Nacpan was worse than we expected. It was rough, not cemented, full of rocks and treacherous. We had to cross another 3 bridges along the tour.

After more than an hour, there was sign of civilization. We were nearing the beach. If I were to be given a second chance of doing this, I'd use the motorbike instead. It's faster, more convenient and hassle-free.

Nacpan Beach is the longest beach in El Nido stretching up to 3 kilometers long. It is a must to see this beach. Your El Nido tour will not be complete without going to this place. You can have the island hopping tour for this and I think the rent is around P2,000.

From the beach, you can see the Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beach. Due to lack of time and energy, we decided not to explore anymore the twin beaches. it was already 11:30 am and we had to go back to the town.

I took us 2 hours to reach the town of El Nido. It was tiring and exhausting! But it was really fun!!

It's Really More Fun in El Nido!
