Experience Bohol

Holy Week 2011.

I arrived in Bohol 6:45 pm from Cebu via Super Cat.

This tour was my Holy Week Tour in 2011.

The one-week tour started from Cebu, then to Bohol, then Camiguin, Cagayan De Oro, and lastly Bukidnon.

Again, luck was on my side because there was still one tour agency opened for my inquiry. I negotiated for my accommodation (actually, it was only a pension house worth Php 700/day), my tour and my ride for the following day in 15-20 minutes. The tour was worth Php 2,000 (from the original price of P3,500). I am glib talker. That is my gift! =)

I checked in at Slim Pension House in Tagbilaran and the first thing that I did was to upload my pictures in Cebu!!

After the upload, took my dinner, went back to the hotel and hit the sack.

Day 1 in Bohol

My Bohol tour was scheduled 8 am and as early as 7 am I was already ready and excited.

My driver/tour guide arrived around 8:10 am, we went to the Tagbilaran church and afterwards proceeded to Carmen.

Actually, I started my visita iglesia in Cebu and continued it here in Bohol and so what I did was for every town we were passing, I was asking the driver to stop for 5 minutes so that I could offer a 2 minute prayer for my family, my health and safety.

It was a one and a half hours ride to Carmen.

BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!

Chocolate Hills was majestic!!

I was struck by its sheer splendor and beauty.

There were so many local and foreign tourists during that day. In the thick of the crowd, if you drop something I am sure you are going to have one hell of a time finding it.

There were even bikers who climbed the hill that day.

After the Chocolates Hills, we passed the man-made forest

Then, stopped at the Hanging Bridge.

Then, the Tarsier!

Finally, starving, we went to the Loboc River for the floating restaurant. The cruise is worth Php 400. And I waited for boat number 11 – the Giga Boat!

I did not enjoy the food!!! (The food was great, honestly) But I made a vow not to eat meat during the Holy Week and so I was just keeping my promise.

The Loboc River Cruise is two and a half hours ride. I enjoyed the cruise more than the food. There was this part that I liked best; the residents there were serenading the passengers while we were docked at their floating stage and gracefully and cordially dancing the Philippine folk dances.

I enjoyed this!

Very refreshing and relaxing!

After the cruise, I was fetched by my ride and, we passed several churches.

If there is one thing I love about Bohol, its their majestic churches!

Along the way, we also passed a house shaped like a ship.

I was also toured in the Bohol Phyton.

Last stop was the Sanduguan Site! Then, back to the hotel.

Imagine the places, we went to that day!

That night I had difficulty sleeping maybe because I was tired and I did not want the day to end...

Day 2 in Bohol

The next day I had to wake up early, since as agreed upon, the tour should start at 7 am.

I have to be in Jagna port at 1 pm for my Camiguin ride.

We sped off to Hinagdanan Cave.

Honestly, I was not that excited since I have seen so many caves already in my life in Palawan, Mt. Makiling, Mt. Banahaw and in Sagada (The Sumaguing Cave in Sagada, Mountain Province is the BEST!)

Anyway, we went inside Hinagdanan Cave and paid only P20 for the entrance fee.

By the way, the tour during that day was worth Php 1,000.

Then, we went to Panglao Beach.

I have seen so many beaches. Puerto Galera, Padudpud, Boracay, El Nido, Dos Palmas, Laiya, and Nasugbu (in Batangas) etc… Well, Panglao is the same as Puerto Galera.

After Panglao, we went to the terminal for Jagna and I was able to get a “tricycle ride” worth P700 to Jagna Port.

Imagine, Php700!

Why should I take a tricycle ride for a 2 hour trip??

Well, it’s Good Friday! No common carrier.

Anyway, I labored the two-hour ride amidst the rain and reached Jagna port past 12 pm.

Whew!! I thought I wouldn’t make it on time. Thank you Lord. =)))

Here are the schedule of the trips in Jagna.

Off to Camiguin!

N.B. - total cost of the trip - Php 6,980

  1. It was my first time to visit Bohol and it was really fun. It was a 3 days vacation and it wasn’t enough because we had a Cebu - Bohol trip. Both destinations were tourists spots-filled and I’m looking forward to return and visit more awesome places that I’ve seen on TV, internet or blogs like this post. I’m glad to meet the famous Tarsier too xD

Was not so long ago in this place and I will say that I really liked it there, especially I tell you it was great to rent a car through these guys with the driver https://ph.limoscanner.com/partner-vehicle/12332-toyota-innova/ Look at all the beauty here and I'll tell you I turned out very, very good. The car is clean, the driver is adequate. I arrived quickly and at a price it turned out quite and quite adequately, that's why I personally never regretted what they turned to, they provided really high-quality services to me, so I advise you to take a closer look if you find yourself in it beautifully and Beautiful place)
