Backpackers Trip to Sagada (My Third Trip) Updated December 2015

November 30, 2012.

After going to Puerto Galera last summer 2012, my friends and I decided to have another one before the year 2012 ends, and the trip is to Sagada.

Jonas, Niko, Mj, Feng, Des, Elaine, Ces, Lester, Jason, Jhen, Sir Rico, Ma'am Phlor and I joined this trip.

Bus stop-over
Our meeting place was at Genesis Bus Station in Sta. Cruz, Manila. We left  Manila past 11 pm and arrived in Baguio City past 5 am. We hurriedly went to the Dangwa Bus Station. We waited for an hour and was able to catch the second trip to Sagada.

Past 10 am, we stopped at the bus stop-over and partake our breakfast.

Past 12 pm, we arrived in Sagada and hiked towards our accommodation.

our accommodation
My friends and I rested for 1 hour before we started our Sagada activities.

The "Packers"

It was a beautiful day that day!

First stop for the day - Spelunking at Sumaging Cave!

My third time to do spelunking at Sumaging Cave, but the the thrill was still there!

After the spelunking at Sumaging Cave, we went to the Orange Plantation.

Later that evening, we took our dinner at one of the prestigious restaurants in Sagada

After dinner, we made our own bonfire. We were having a great time. This trip was totally different from our Puerto Galera trip last summer 2012.

Jonas and Niko took turns lighting up the fire and roasting the hotdogs!

Day 2

Early the following morning, we to Danum Lake to witness the sunrise at the lake. Weather was not good that day. It was cloudy and foggy and we went back to our lodge. Along the way back to the lodge, I still witness the sunrise...

Every Sunday, there is a some sort of "tiange" at the town's road and we did a little bit of  window shopping for our souvenirs.

Then, afterwards we started our trek to Bomod-Ok Falls.

It took us more than an hour before we reached the falls.

Even though it was a bit hot that day but the cold air in Sagada gave us the comfort we needed to trek for minutes.

Finally, we reached the Bomod-ok Falls!

On our trek back to the jump-off point, the amazement on the scenery in Sagada continued..

And the smiles were just written in all our faces!

After the trek to the falls, we boarded our service jeepney and off we went to our next stop, the famous - Hanging Coffins!

And the last stop for the day was the -  Underground River.

We had one hell of a great time in Sagada! The adventures are simply outstanding!!!
Thank you guys! =)

  1. Hello Mr. Jun Villegas,

    A pleasant day to you.

I will be launching s2kd by the end of April. Primarily it will be a collection of personal stories of travel in the Philippines. The basic idea is for people to share the excitement of going places and at the same time offer useful information to would-be wanderers.

In connection with this I am requesting your permission to allow me to republish in full (text and images) your blog post at

    http://junvillegas.blogspot.com/2013/03/backpackers-trip-to-sagada-my-third-trip.html

As usual, full credits along with a link back to your article will accompany the republished content.

A preview of s2kd is available at http://s2kd.blogspot.com/

    Hoping for your approval.

    Sincerely,
    Ronald Alcazar

Anything that would help Philippine tourism is a welcome opportunity.

We just finished our 3rd backpacking trip to Tablas, Romblon, Carabao Island and Boracay. I will try to finish the blog in 2 week's time.
